Why calibrate?
FAQ
How long does it take?
Typical bench time is 1–2 business days per shipment. Once calibration is complete, you will be sent an invoice with return shipping added.
Is shipping insured?
Insurance is recommended. Buyer is responsible for declaring/assuming shipping costs & insurance; signature is required on return.
What monitors are supported?
At the moment, I’m currently offering calibration for SmallHD monitors running PageOS 5 & 6 and Flanders Scientific. Please contact robert@machadovisuals.com if you have another monitor you’d like to calibrate.
Which calibration targets should I choose?
Most productions (including myself) target Rec.709, D65, EOTF Power 2.4. Most monitors are capable of displaying a wider gamut (such as P3) but handle the Rec.709 conversion internally. In this case, a P3 target is recommended so the monitor can enforce the desired color pipeline.
How often should I calibrate?
The best answer is, as often as you can without being a burden. Displays can start producing measurable drift within a few months and start affecting your color/exposure decisions on set. Depending on usage, I generally recalibrate my monitors every 3-6 months.
